It occurs to me that women pretty much rule the internet! Most of the posts that I read are not nec. started by women, but are responded to by them. This is something that needs to be addressed, at least in the church community. So.......
I want to make a friendly wager: I will wager a dinner/lunch with anyone that wants to get in. Here's the deal: More men will respond to this post in the comments section than women. The deadline will be July 1, 2007. Only 1 response per person will count towards the total. Let's just see how many men/women will come in with something to say! I think that more men are out there just reading, and not commenting.........what do you say?

Well I have to say that I am guilty of reading and not responding but I am more of a 1-on-1 type person and do not really like typing out responses. I feel like too much can be misinterpreted when you are unsure of the emotion behind what is being said. but I do regularly checck and read this and the church website forums :D Lonnie also checks this daily but due to the restrictions that her work places on internet access she can only read and not respond. So I guess my only defense is HAH I was the first to respond!!

I always check in everyday multiple times to see if you are posting.
I tend to be the only one that responds and have thought about not responding anymore. Not that I don't have anything to say but I feel like an idiot being the only one with an opinion about everything.
You probably will get responses from men about this one but that doesn't mean that after the 1st they will continue.
I agree with Jenny, I bet that the men will respond since there is a bet on this now...they will want to prove a point. But I bet it will not continue. Most men don't know how to express what they are thinking,or what they want to say and to try and post it on a blog or forum is really sticking out their necks. I hope I am wrong and they continue...

okay well, I think that if that is true, that guys are just reading and not commenting, that they need to step up to the plate and bring it. No matter what you think we actually do value your opionions too. So, come on let us here from you!
Well, the contest is over so that leaves me out as far as trying to win a bet or to prove something. I think that alot of you haven't been around on the net much because I see more men posting than women in my industry. Daily I keep up with tech news and forums and there's men all over the place posting. That may be it though...the subject matter. I think men may tend to post more in some places than others depending on the subject matter and their depth of knowledge in it. It's a very competitive world on the internet and if you try showing somebody else up you're going to get flamed and that's never enjoyable. I know if there's a potential of me getting flamed I tend to stay away from the subject unless it's about God. I can't count how many times I've been flamed by some athiest.
